Who We Help

ASCEND is a charitable organization based in Calgary, Alberta dedicated to assisting families and community support agencies with donations of computers, laptops, and tablets.

Our mission is to inspire people to ascend above any barriers that impede success. Join us in building a legacy for Alex as we help others pursue their dreams. 

ASCEND, a registered Canadian charity, was founded in 2009 as a legacy to Alex Schaap. ASCEND is committed to making a positive contribution to the Alberta community by supporting the technological needs of family-centred support services.

In addition to helping individual families in need, ASCEND is proud to partner with a number of community support programs. We also offer annual scholarships to post-secondary students pursuing an education in technology. Our charity support partners to date include:
